College Access New Hire!

College Access is thrilled to announce the onboarding of a new member to the team, Deborah Allard Dion. Deborah is a longtime resident of the SouthCoast community. Earning degree's from both Bristol Community College and Bryant University, she joins Bristol with over two decades of experience as a Journalist and Reporter for the The Herald News in Fall River. In her new clerical role in Bristol's College Access Department, she will be utilizing her skills in both business and communications to assist Bristol in promoting a college going culture. She resides in Fall River with her husband Marc Dion and their two felines. Please join Bristol in welcoming her at DualEnrollment@Bristolcc.edu.

Spring 2022 Perkins Courses

College Access is happy to announce the offering of Spring Perkins Courses. After receiving feedback from our CVTE Implementation Committee, Bristol will be offering the following courses. Please keep in mind, that all courses are enrolled on a first come and first serve basis, unless otherwise indicated by Associate Director, Carlos Avila.

Dual Enrollment Eligibility Guidelines

  • Currently enrolled in a public secondary school, non-public school, or home school.
  • Must not have earned a high school diploma.
  • Must meet all course prerequisites per the course policies of Bristol Community College.
  • Have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.0 or show potential for academic success.
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 2.5 at Bristol to continue in dual enrollment.
  • Contact your High School Guidance Counselor to participate.
  • Submit a completed Bristol Dual Enrollment Application which includes:
    **Student Application
    Guidance Department Authorization Form
    Copy of most recent Transcript
    Official copy of any applicable testing scores


** Incomplete applications will not be processed. All documents should be legible and submitted to DualEnrollment@BristolCC.edu.

FAFSA 2022: Now Open!

The FAFSA application window for 2022 opened on October 1st, so seniors interested in applying for financial aid can begin to do so here, https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa


For priority consideration, students should submit their application by Feb. 1, 2022. Applications are accepted through April 1, 2022, by midnight Central time. Montana.

Spring CVTE Implementation Meeting Planning

The CVTE Implementation Committee will be resuming "in-person" meetings in the Spring. The following schools volunteered to host our meetings. Please keep in mind that RSVPs will be required for ALL Spring meetings, as the hosting schools will need to plan for the meeting based on participant headcount. Should you have any questions regarding the upcoming meetings, please feel free to contact Nikita at Nikita.Viera@Bristolcc.edu.

Career Technical Initiative (CTI) Adult Training Implementation Grants

To support Massachusetts High Schools and address persistent demand in construction/trades and manufacturing, Commonwealth Corporation, on behalf of the Workforce Skills Cabinet, is announcing the availability of up to $12.2M for the FY’22 Career Technical Initiative Adult Training Grant Request for Responses (Round 5).

This funding will support schools with Chapter 74 vocational programs to implement adult training through the Career Technical Initiative (CTI) starting in March 2022. CTI is a grant opportunity administered through Commonwealth Corporation that funds training opportunities for unemployed and underemployed adult workers in construction/trades and manufacturing at high schools with aligned Chapter 74 programs.

Applicants may request up to $6,000 per student in implementations funds issued through this solicitation for training and placement programs, which will be paid on a reimbursable basis. Schools that have not previously received a CTI implementation round are also eligible for up to $40,000 in start-up funds for staff and marketing costs, paid on a reimbursable basis.
