Finishing STRONG
Now more than ever it is important for all students to finish strong, just not with academics but behaviorally as well! We have done such a great job being Riverview Leaders this year, but about this time it is always good to have a little friendly reminder..... and while we LOVE to have those discussions here at school, when parents follow up with their students at home we notice a great chance of success.
In fact I reminded students last week as I did my finish strong speech tour to each class.... That when they come to school, they have three VERY important jobs:
1) Be Respectful
2) Be Responsible
3) Be Engaged
I shared with students that no matter who is in our building, students or staff, it is their job to be respectful. I also shared that it is there job to be responsible, they are in charge of themselves...both by actions and words. Finally I shared with students it their job to be engaged. They are in charge of their learning. I told them that here at Riverview we have some pretty AMAZING teachers, but in order for them to do all of their wonderful magic, they need the students to meet them halfway.
We are so looking forward to wrapping up a wonderful year here at Riverview.....BUT..... if you get a chance or opportunity, remind your students to finish strong!

Field Day is on the WAY!
Field Day is almost here! Riverview’s Field Day will be Friday, May 20th throughout the school day. Field Day is an exciting day to end an incredible school year with fun games, sunshine (hopefully), and the chance for classes to work together and celebrate a year well done! Field Day is a big task, and volunteer help is crucial. I am looking for volunteers to help with station coverage, set up, and tear down. You can sign up to help all day, or even just morning or afternoon – whatever works best for you! I am looking for about 40-45 volunteers for the day. The sign-up will be open until Friday, May 6th. Please check out the sign up to see how you can help. We would LOVE to have you!!
Thank you for considering to help with this fun-filled event! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at khill1@usd232.org. “
