Finishing STRONG

Spring has officially sprung and summer break is on the horizon!

Now more than ever it is important for all students to finish strong, just not with academics but behaviorally as well! We have done such a great job being Riverview Leaders this year, but about this time it is always good to have a little friendly reminder..... and while we LOVE to have those discussions here at school, when parents follow up with their students at home we notice a great chance of success.

In fact I reminded students last week as I did my finish strong speech tour to each class.... That when they come to school, they have three VERY important jobs:

1) Be Respectful

2) Be Responsible

3) Be Engaged

I shared with students that no matter who is in our building, students or staff, it is their job to be respectful. I also shared that it is there job to be responsible, they are in charge of themselves...both by actions and words. Finally I shared with students it their job to be engaged. They are in charge of their learning. I told them that here at Riverview we have some pretty AMAZING teachers, but in order for them to do all of their wonderful magic, they need the students to meet them halfway.

We are so looking forward to wrapping up a wonderful year here at Riverview.....BUT..... if you get a chance or opportunity, remind your students to finish strong!

Field Day is on the WAY!

Field Day is almost here! Riverview’s Field Day will be Friday, May 20th throughout the school day. Field Day is an exciting day to end an incredible school year with fun games, sunshine (hopefully), and the chance for classes to work together and celebrate a year well done! Field Day is a big task, and volunteer help is crucial. I am looking for volunteers to help with station coverage, set up, and tear down. You can sign up to help all day, or even just morning or afternoon – whatever works best for you! I am looking for about 40-45 volunteers for the day. The sign-up will be open until Friday, May 6th. Please check out the sign up to see how you can help. We would LOVE to have you!!

Changes in the Lunchroom

Now that masks are optional and COVID cases are low, we are adjusting and making some changes within the building. One of those areas that will see changes after spring break will be in our lunchroom. We will adjust the seating arrangement, and we will now start having visitors at lunch. We have not been able to have this for two years, so many of you have never experienced lunch at Riverview. Here are a few items to note:

  • Please use the sign-up below if you would like to come and have lunch with your child. This follows board policy of making sure our visitors are pre-planned.
  • Students and their guest will have special seating separate from other students.
  • You may purchase an adult lunch at school. If you would like to do this, the cost is $4.35, and it is helpful if we know this in advance.
  • You may choose to bring food from a favorite restaurant to enjoy with your child.

*PLEASE make sure to pay close attention to the lunch times listed below, as we do try and to keep things moving and on schedule here at RE. This really helps with the lunch process and the disruption of learning.....I know those pesky drive through lines have a mad rush during the lunch hours. Please try to keep that in mind and plan ahead when possible!

Early Pickup

As we all return back to some activities post COVID, we are starting to change some things up with early pickup. If at any point during the school day you are needing to pick up your student, we now ask that you park and come into the front office to pick up your student. This way you can sign your student out and meet them in the front office to checkout.

Thank you in advance for helping us with this small change! We look forward to seeing your smiling faces in the front office.
