Classroom Happenings
ELA- Mrs. Day & Mrs. Goosen
Students have started their blog and should be writing away. Each week we are asking students to complete 3 (proficient) or more (advanced) blogs per week.
This week we will be looking at how they can better use language to show and not tell.
Have your child share their blog with you so that you can see what they have been up to!
Students should be reading 15 minutes a day. Here is a link to the various reading resources we have provided:
Science- Mr. Geringer & Mrs. Oliver
This week science students began their third unit of study for this school year dealing with growth, development and reproduction. In this unit we will explore how plants, animals, and fungi life cycles are similar and different including how even members of the same kingdom reproduce differently.
This week we talked about how plants can reproduce sexually by producing flowers and cones, or how they can reproduce asexually by budding.
Next week we will focus on how animals and their behaviors improve or reduce their chance of surviving and successfully reproducing.
Social Studies- Mrs. Goosen & Mr. Landolt
Students have been assigned their historical person and are in the throes of research. This week they will be creating a “Fakebook” account to show how awesome their person is. We will have our first round of voting at the end of the week.
