Friday Flyer
Second Grade
Dear Second Grade Parents,
Yesterday, we enjoyed an Eastern Woodlands feast of corn bread, turkey jerky, dried cranberries, acorn squash with maple syrup, and pumpkin pie. Some children realized that they actually like some of these foods after sampling them! Next week, we will begin our study of the Arctic and the Inuit people.
Please remember that our holiday party/community service project is next Tuesday, December 6, from 9:00-10:00 am. We made this an early morning event so that we can have as many parents on deck as possible to help with creating onesies for Mary's Center. We are also collecting new baby blankets and women's gloves for the organization. You may send in these items before or the day of the party.
Questions to ask your children:
- What did you do in the Makerspace last Monday with Mrs. Opdahl?
- Mrs. Kaufman's reading group: What genre is Titanic Cat? (historical fiction)
- Ms. Holzer's reading group: Why was the mouse named Wolf?
- Mrs. King's reading group: What is a new word you learned while reading The Hero Two Doors Down?
