What is Gardnerella?
Gardnerella is the most common cause of abnormal vaginal odor and discharge. This is cause by a change in bacteria. You can mostly get this STD from vaginal sex, but it is still possible for women to get it without intercourse.
Symptoms
About 50% of women with Gardnerella don't have signs. Most symptoms include vaginal odor and white or yellow discharge. Some women notice this right after having sex.
Treatment
Most women just want to relieve the symptoms. Most medicines can be taken by mouth or applied as a vaginal cream. All women with symptoms should be tested.
