Curriculum for the Week
Reading
This week we will be reading the story My Grandmother's Patchwork Quilt.
We will also be focusing on the following:
- compound words
- using connections to make sense
- point of view
- readers make unique text to self connections
- identify when a connection isn't helpful
- facts and events
- digging deep to make connection
Math
This week we will be working on the following:
- problem solving
- solving parts-and-total number stories
- reading a thermommeter
- solving number stories
Writing
This week we will be reading the book I Will Never Not Ever Eat a Tomato and writing lists of likes and dislikes. We will use these list to write a story. The children will be learning the importance to adding details to thier stories.
Spelling
We will be working on Sort 16 which is short and long u. Please remember to have your child practice their spelling words using the Spelling City website https://www.spellingcity.com/gayman/. Please look for Sort 16 for this week's words.
Social Studies
This week we will be learning about how the Lenape Indians hunted and fished. We will also learn about their clothing and family life. We will be taking our test next Monday.
