Announcements!
Dear Raider Nation,
I hope you are enjoying the extended weekend. For those of you celebrating Rosh Hashana – Happy New Year!
This Friday is the start of our Homecoming festivities. It begins with jersey day – wear your favorite team/athlete jersey. I am curious to see how many of you don a Ravens jersey (not that I am biased at all) . I have kept the information regarding Homecoming below. Please be sure to refer to it for questions. More information will come up next week regarding our Pep Rally. However, for planning purposes, our pep rally will once again take place in the gym and will occur during periods 5 & 6. We will dismiss students via the PA system by grade. Please refer to the schedule below.
A huge thank you to Adrienne Nasir and Carolyn Pilcher for starting our online announcements. In an effort to limit the number of morning and afternoon announcements and provide a way for students to find information they may have missed, we now have scrolling announcements on our website. Given this new development, we will limit the number of announcements made during the day. If you would like an announcement on the website, please reach out to Adrienne.
With the removal of interims, I will be sending special message to encourage families to check grades in Canvas at the time they would have normally been distributed. As a reminder, teachers should have published all courses in Canvas in which students will be receiving grades.
I am currently in Washington D.C. at a board meeting for the National Association of Secondary School Principals. October is National Principals Month and I will spend a day on Capitol Hill meeting with representatives from the offices of Senators Cardin and Van Hollen and Representative Cummings. Additionally, I will take part in a Capitol Hill briefing on October 17 that discusses the challenges of the principalship.
Lastly, the PTSA will be dropping of small treats for the staff this Friday. If you haven’t done so already, please join our phenomenal PTSA.
Wishing everyone a fantastic week!
Robert
