Social Emotional Learning at Mile Tree

The Mile Tree Staff works hard ensuring that each child receives the best education they can. A critical part of a student's learning is around their social emotional needs and we are using many resources to support this.

Our school approaches the social emotional learning of our students by setting the stage through Responsive Classroom with the support of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS).

Each teacher sets the expectations in their classroom around our three school rules of Being Kind, Being Responsible and Being Safe. Students are taught various strategies on how to show the expected behavior throughout our school and in the community.

Knowing that you are your child's first teacher we are happy to have you as our partner in this work and over the course of the year will share resources with you. Our hope is that you read what is offered and see how it might help you and your child navigate their time at Mile Tree and beyond.

Our first article we would like to share is below. It speaks to how children can be labeled as "That Child" and how we can help children through this.
