The Time Has Come!
It is time to kick off the new school year with optimism and excitement! You are an amazing team of educators and our students and families are blessed to be a part of Rountree. Your students have been counting down the days to return to school and meet their new teachers! This year you have 172 days filled with opportunities to make a positive impact. How will you reach your students? How will you stay balanced? How will you maintain your passion for teaching? What will you do when you become overwhelmed?

Discipline Flowchart
Please make sure you connect with the buddy room teacher you will be using this year. As a first step in being consistent in behavior management, review the steps to take when students are not following classroom essential agreements. Remember these things need to be done with minor incidents prior to a formal discipline referral. Intentional teaching of the expectations along with intentional, dedicated time to teach what consequences look like prior to an incident go a long way in supporting effective behavior management.
1. Give the student an opportunity to self-correct (warning)/conference with student.
2. Break time/chill chair
3. Buddy room/think sheet--if student is receptive to this.
4. Make parent contact regarding the behavior and document.
