Big Learning Moments
English Language Arts
-In reading We are wrapping up our poetry unit this week with analyzing mood and continuing to learn to infer poetry. We will take our 2nd SRI online assessment this week as well.
-In writing we are working on our Short Stories unit. We are continuing to work hard on revising our short stories. Each day we lean a new element about writing a short story. This week the focus is on ways to move time, developing a believable conflict and conclusions, to name three.
Math
Social Studies/Science
In Social Studies: We are doing a deep study into European explorers. We are discovering why these explorers came to the New World and how their arrival affected the native peoples. We are studying specific explorers and how they impacted the new world.
In Science you child is continuing their science unit with the 5th grade teacher assigned.
