First Friday Adoration/Mass

Praying before the Blessed Sacrament can be the most efficacious way to lift up the needs of our students as well as the needs of SMCS. Our next adoration is this Friday, December 2 from 8:00am-3:00pm. Feel free to sign up using this link or stop in as your schedule allows. All are also are welcome to join in the morning mass at 7:25am on each of the adoration days.

Giving Opportunity

SMCHS has partnered with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), a national nonprofit that raises funds for children living in poverty and are in need of a bed. All donations go to the building and delivery of beds. The recipients are also given a mattress, a pillow, sheets, and a comforter. The SHP nonprofit has delivered 35 beds in the Appleton/Menasha area in the last two months and have several requests for more.

For every $200 donated, the SMCHS community will be granted a pajama casual dress day. We have already raised enough for two casusal days, but would love more! We will be collecting money UNTIL this FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2. Our goal is to raise $1000 and be casual for a week. Parents can send the donation through the office or with their child.

Christmas Generosity for our Teachers

We are organizing a collection for a Christmas lunch and small gifts for our teachers. This is a great way to recognize all of our wonderful teachers with one easy donation. Contributing is completely optional. If you are interested in contributing toward the gift, please make your commitment using this LINK and then send the donation in an envelope to the school office addressed TEACHER CHRISTMAS GIFT by Monday, December 12. Thank you!

Christmas Photo Fun!

To kick off our holiday season, we are having a festive Christmas program on Monday, December 19. As a part of the program, we will share ‘vintage’ Christmas photos.

Parents--you can help! Please send digital pictures of your child, ideally ages five and under, at Christmastime. We will play a guessing game of the student in the picture during the program. They can be in a group photo--just be sure to point out which one is your child.

If you would like to participate, send your photo electronically to Sue Thelen by WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 14 to be included.

Record Breaker!

Congratulations to Chloe Vogel who recently broke the all-time girls basketball scoring record. Chloe now has 1178 career points through four games in her senior year. She broke the school record at a game in Mishicot where she needed 10 points to break the record. The previous record was held for the last four year by Abbi Thelen ('19) with 1154 points.

Volunteers Needed

Volunteering at our home middle/high school athletic events is mandatory for families that have students participating in sports. Students are allowed to work concession shifts to fulfill the family requirement and can also earn volunteer hours required for graduation.

SMCS sends text messages related to school closure dates and other emergencies specific to our SMCS schools via SIMPLE TEXTING. To enroll your phone number, please text SMCS to (844) 947-5948. You will receive a confirmation text and a text indicating how to stop the service if needed. You may enroll multiple cell phone numbers using that same process. Text SMCS to (844) 947-5948.
