Classroom Observations
Teachers: Administration has many observations to conduct within the next five weeks. These include both walk –throughs and formal observations.
We have a few reminders so that you know exactly what to expect and how to prepare:
- Please be prepared at all times for a visit from an administrator by having your learning plans out on your desk. Even if you have them online or in SharePoint printed copies must be readily available.
- Learning plans must be dated and include a minimum of objective, procedure, and evaluation for each lesson.
- Please have your learning target updated, specific, and posted clearly in your room and refer to them often during the lesson.
- We will be documenting learning targets and learning plan compliance by including pictures attached to your observation.
- Please do not stop your instruction to talk to administrators, but rather carry on with your lesson.
- Refer to your high-yield student engagement yellow card when planning your lessons.
We look forward to observing the fantastic learning and student-centered engaging going on at Alanton Elementary!
Patrol Update -
Some of you may have noticed a change in the hall patrols. Mrs. DeMartini and Mrs. Demers have decided to try something new in order to improve patrol reliability. Hall patrols will be chosen from 4th graders. They are “patrols in training” for next year when they will be eligible for bus patrol. In order for the 4th graders to make sure that their morning work is being completed, they are only patrolling in the afternoons!
Patrol reminders for 4th and 5th grade teachers:
- Students may not patrol without a belt, so make sure that they have a belt if they are leaving your room early.
- Patrols may leave when they start calling for parent pick-up.
- 4th Grade patrols- only patrol in the afternoons
- 5th grade patrols – both a.m. and p.m. duties
Military Forms
Teachers, Military Affiliation Information Forms should be returned by Thursday, February 25th. Please use the class list provided as a check off sheet and return along with completed forms. If you have any questions, please let Kim Greer know.
Thank you in advance for your help.

SOL Tutoring Snacks & JEANS! :)
Do you want to wear jeans on both Wednesday and Thursday of next week? Well if you said "YES", all you have to do is send in a snack donation that will be used at SOL tutoring for each day you want to wear jeans. We are looking for individually wrapped snacks and juice boxes. Please do not send anything in with peanuts. If you do not want to buy a snack, you can make a $5.00 donation each day you want to wear jeans. Please bring snacks or money to Room 31.
Thanks, Brianne and Jodi (Funds will be going through Staff Welfare)
*To all the fashionistas out there - Paid Days to Wear Jeans = Spirit Wear Not Required, But Keep It Professional Looking :) As Always!
