Mr. Mauck's Musings
We have had a wonderful welcome back and a great start to the semester. Our seniors have less than 90 days of school left. JHS is fortunate to welcome four new staff members for the second semester. Mrs. Samantha Verderley will be teaching our Ed Professions classes. Mrs. Delanie Berger will be teaching World History and AP World History. Mrs. Marissa Wehr will be supervising our study hall and Jennifer Blessinger will be joining the cafeteria staff. We are very fortunate to have acquired these four talented women.
In January we celebrate School Board Appreciation Month and welcome the new board president Greg Eckerle. A big thank you to all of our current, and past board members. January 9th marks Law Enforcement Appreciation Day and our School Resource Officer, Jason Knies, deserves a huge thank you.
The best band in the land will be recognized tomorrow before the varsity basketball game for their Class B State Championship. Please come out and help us congratulate Jasper High School's latest State Championship.
Students wishing to attend the spring Disney trip need to see Mrs. Luebbehusen. Details are below. The JHS Dance team will be hosting a dance competition beginning at 8:30 am on January 14th. The High School, Middle School, and Youth Dance teams will be performing. We are looking for 34 brave individuals to donate blood on January 25th during our winter blood drive. Please see Mrs. Hutton's email to sign up and for details for eligible students. Finally, the Heart of Jasper is holding Movies on Main events. Please see the flyer for details.
Looking forward to a great semester.

Any scholarships received after January 9th will be emailed directly to seniors. It is very important that seniors check their emails frequently for additional scholarship opportunities.

BOOK BANTER FROM YOUR LIBRARY
The January drawing will be to guess the title of a shredded (irreparably broken) book in a clear jar. It is a worldwide best seller! Come in and and write your guess to enter the drawing.
Also, if you have a book title you would like to see in our library, come and have it added to our wishlist! I will be placing a new book order sometime in January.
FYI: there are some class change forms in the library. I can also teach you where to find Guidance Forms on your computer
Also, ask me about our used BOOK SALE!! We have many good, used books for sale. $1.00 for hardback books and $.50 for paperback books.
As always, don’t skip checking your selection out at the front desk. And please be certain to return your books. RETURN OR RENEW at any time!
Happy Reading!!
