November 10, 2017
Dear Colts,
Today we ended the week with an informative assembly over Veteran's Day for our students. Aaron Kreag, an Army Veteran, spoke to our student body on the meaning of the day and the significance of what the day means to him and our country. It was great for our students to hear of the sacrifices past and current military members have made for our country.
On this coming Monday, our 7th and 8th grade students will be taking the Gallup research-based StrengthsFinder assessment to learn their top five strengths. Along with the assessment, the students will receive their own personalized online Strengths Dashboard complete with an online version of the StrengthsFinder book and signature theme reports tailored specifically to them. Our staff has already learned about their top five strengths and had professional development on how we can utilize our strengths to continue moving our campus forward.
The development of strengths training will be ongoing throughout the school year to assist our students in understanding how they can leverage their strengths for success - not only in school but in life. Our 6th graders will take the assessment upon their return from the winter break.
We look forward to this ongoing learning for our staff and students. Enjoy your weekend!
BEST,
David Arencibia, Ed.D.

Wear Purple! Spread Awareness!
On World Pancreatic Cancer Day (Thursday, Nov. 16), Colleyville Middle School will take action to help us raise awareness about pancreatic cancer, one of the world’s deadliest cancers. Both the cities of Grapevine and Colleyville have made the proclamation to recognize World Pancreatic Cancer Day.
Imagine if we could unite the planet in support of a common goal. That’s the idea behind World Pancreatic Cancer Day. November 16, 2017, is a day we will unite and make our voices heard. In the battle against pancreatic cancer we will show the world we #DemandBetter and #WageHope against this terrible disease.
