More about ASEAN
The ASEAN Emblem
The ASEAN Emblem represents a stable, peaceful, united and dynamic ASEAN. The colours of the Emblem — blue, red, white and yellow — represent the main colours of the state crests of all the ASEAN Member States.
Blue represents peace and stability.
Red depicts courage and dynamism.
White shows purity.
Yellow symbolises prosperity.
The stalks of padi in the centre of the Emblem represent the dream of ASEAN’s Founding Fathers for an ASEAN comprising all the countries in Southeast Asia, bound together in friendship and solidarity. The circle represents the unity of ASEAN.
Rising Power
Watch the following clip by McKinsey & Company to learn more about how ASEAN is poised to become an economic power in tomorrow's world.
SINGAPORE - INDONESIA RELATIONS
In the past few years, Singapore has consistently been Indonesia's top foreign investor. Singapore and Indonesia have also cooperated across a wide range of sectors, including health, defence and the environment.
The relations between Indonesia and Singapore stem from our proximity, as Singapore is one of the nearest neighboring countries to Indonesia.
Battling environmental issues hand in hand
Air pollution due to haze has been a major issue affecting both Singapore and Indonesia in recent years. Click the link to read more about how the two countries are working together to battle the problem.
Many Indonesians work in Singapore as domestic helpers, and quite a number have become integral parts of our families. Click the link to read about Ms Nova Erni Esiana Bones, a domestic helper, and how working in Singapore has changed her life.
