School Building Project Q and A Forum

As you know, we are facing a capacity issue at both of our elementary schools due to increased enrollment. The projected data indicates that we will run out of viable teaching spaces for the 2021-2022 school year. This information was presented after two years of research and data collection at a recent School Committee meeting after a presentation by the School Building Project Committee.

The School Building Committee is putting together a panel consisting of representatives from the School Building Committee, administrators and educators to answer any and all questions that you might have in regards to the proposed project. The panel members will be the guests of our Town Administrator’s Cable show, Town Talk that will air the week of November 2nd. It is vitally important that you are fully informed as we progress with this proposed timeline:

  • Monday, October 26: Selectmen approve warrant and possible election

  • Monday, November 2: School Building Committee presents to Finance Committee

  • Saturday, November 21: Special Town Meeting

  • Tuesday, December 8: Special Town Election

Please take a moment to review these two presentations prior to drafting your questions

Here is your Google Form to submit a question to the Building Project Panel.

Thank you in advance for your thoughtful submission.

Travel Policy Update

Please note the change to our Travel Policy effective October 23, 2020:

Travel Policy: If a student/staff member travels outside of the approved lower-risk states by the Commonwealth of Massachuesetts, either of the following two conditions must be met before a student/staff member can return to the school building:

1. Produce a negative COVID-19 test result from a test that is administered at least 5 days after arrival back into the state of Massachusetts. The result of this test must be given to the COVID liaison before returning to the building.

2. Quarantine for 14 days from the date of arrival back into the state of Massachusetts.

Email Response Time

Just a reminder that if you email a teacher with a question or concern about your child's assignments or learning during the school day, teachers are teaching, prepping and working with students and may not be able to respond to you immediately or even that day. Teachers have 24 hours to respond to emails. Thank you for your understanding.
