Principal's Notes
I hope everyone had a chance to enjoy the nice weather yesterday. As we look ahead for the week it looks to be calm and so far looks good for Friday's Boosterthon! Your support is essential in making the day a success, please continue to share about your child's participation. See below for more information.
Dog Presentation: Grades K - 2 will have a presentation tomorrow on dog safety. The presenter brings several therapy dogs, if your child has a dog allergy or is frightened of dogs please let their classroom teacher know.
Instrumental Lessons: Last call for students interested in taking instrument lessons. Lessons will begin this Wednesday. Students should bring their instruments to school and they will be provided their schedule. Mr. Smith can be reached at 781-585-9220 if your child would like to sign-up.
Final Day for NED Sales: Tuesday, during lunch, will be the last day to make NED purchase. Thank you to all who already purchases something.
All my best,

To continue to build our sense of school community, St Bridget’s School is initiating a new weekly routine called "Tuesdays Together" during morning religion class. Grades K through 8 will be gathering in the church to celebrate our school community. This past Tuesday was our first gathering and it was a joyful time in which students and faculty prayed together, sang together, and learned a little more about our faith.
First, Mrs. Catalano and sixth grade Max Griffin-Glover lead the community in singing This Little Light of Mine. Next, the students and teachers prayed the Our Father together. Mr. Collins then shared some history about Saint Brigid of Ireland and why Saint Brigid is important to our school. Students learned that Saint Brigid is the patron saint of babies, blacksmiths, sailors, dairy farmers, convents and chicken farmers and during her lifetime she organized religious communities for women all over Ireland.
Father Adrian explained to the students about the two places in the church that Saint Brigid can be found. There is one stained glass window to the left of the tabernacle and there is also a statue of her in the front of the church. Finally, Max and Mrs. Catalano led the community in singing “God is an Awesome God.” Thank you Max for leading the school in song with your beautiful voice!
School gatherings provide opportunities beyond the classroom for learning and achievement. Students learn to practice audience behaviors and grow a vision of themselves as contributing members of a larger community. When students and teachers feel connected, there is a greater sense of belonging, school pride, and motivation to teach and learn. School gatherings are a great way for kids to learn more about the school, develop their values, and develop a sense of citizenship in the school community. For example, one of the highlights of the gathering was having the eighth graders sit with their kindergarten buddies! "Tuesdays Together" will help students realize that school is about more than just books and study, it’s also a fun place to participate in fun activities with friends, and even make some new ones!
