Message from the Superintendent

Dear Topeka Public Schools Staff and Families:
We have had a busy start to our summer! This week, we started our Summer Enrichment Programs and Extended School Year, which have been full of students engaged in learning opportunities.
Our district hiring fairs and "I Love TPS" listening tours are ongoing throughout this summer. Read more in the articles below.
We thank everyone who contributed to the Steps for Stegman 5K for ALS awareness and the NAMI Kansas mental health walk in May. Both events raised thousands of dollars thanks to your support.
As a reminder, enrollment for next school year is filling up fast, so please register this month to ensure your child attends your first choice of school. We look forward to seeing students and families at our upcoming in-person enrollment events.
Next week, there are various activities taking place in celebration of Juneteenth. Stay connected with us on social media for continued updates, and thank you for your continued support.
Dr. Tiffany Anderson
Superintendent

Family Service & Guidance Center Offers Support for LGBTQ+ Youth
June is Pride Month, and this month’s Ask a Child Therapist Facebook videos from Family Service & Guidance Center will offer information and advice about supporting LGBTQ+ youth, presented by Meaghan McEachern, Ph.D.
More and more youth are coming out and identifying as LGBTQ+ much earlier than previous generations, so more and more parents are having crucial conversations with their kids about it. Sometimes, this can be an awkward or challenging conversation for families.
Dr. McEachern will present information that will make these conversations a little easier for parents and help them support their children and teens.
Families can watch the videos and follow Family Service & Guidance Center on Facebook at facebook.com/FSGCtopeka. If parents have questions about a specific topic, they can submit them to marketing@fsgctopeka.com.
