The internet is a big part of our everyday lives. You check your phone about 100 times a day to see who posted, liked, tweeted, shared. However there are also many dangers we have to be aware of. Before you post something you should always think:

  • Who will see this
  • Do I want people to see this?
  • In a few moths if someone is looking at my profile do i want them to see this?
...And many more. You also need to make sure you know who can see what you post and who can access your personal information.

Passwords and how to be safe

When signing up to a website you are asked to put a username. Always have a strong password that includes:
  • Capital Letters
  • Numbers
  • Symbols
This will make it harder for anyone to hack into your account. The most important thing you should NEVER do is tell someone your password. If you do, then you are letting them access your personal information freely. From there you never know where your password will end up.
Always use passwords you will remember such as:
Titles of songs, Song lyrics...

DO NOT have your birthday as your password because that is easy to guess.

Computer forensics follows a similar process to other forensic disciplines, and faces similar issues.
