The Night Before First Grade
The picturebook is about a young girl named Penny, who is going to the first grade. The book describes her experience, the night before and her first day in first grade. She prepares her schoolbag, clothes, and lunch for her first day in first grade. Penny is so excited and can't wait to see her friend named Jenny. She sits next to her on the bus but when they get to school they are separated into two different first grade classrooms. Penny meets a new friend. Jenny meets a new friend. Penny can't wait to introduce her new friend to Jenny. Jenny can't wait to introduce her new friend to Penny. They both realize that both of their new friends are twin sisters.
Literary Elements
The plot was well written. The book was very entertaining to read. I enjoyed reading this book. The plot was about a young girl and her journey into the first grade. The characters in the book were strong. I could follow along easily through the pages while reading the book. The setting takes place at Penny's House first then the setting takes place at her school and her first grade classroom.
