A Note From the Principal
Greetings Hamline Families! Well we are off to a great start to the school year. As I greet your children each morning, I am reminded of how lucky I am that I get to start my day seeing their beautiful smiles. It is the children that continually inspire me to lead with courage and never stop exploring ways to bring opportunities and excellence to Hamline. If you ever have any suggestions or ideas around how to better our school please share. Every voice matters to us. As a community, together we stand. As a community, together we must support one another. As of late, there have been some tragic events that have occurred in the Hamline/Midway area. We want you to know that if you or your children would like to meet with one of our school support people, we are here for you. Sometimes children see or hear things that they can't always make sense of. I often can't make sense of it. We have counselors and other support staff available if you are seeing that your child may need someone to talk to. We can't underestimate the impact that tragic events have on our children. We will be having a community meeting later in the month around how we can work together. I will keep you posted on the date.
Last, as the days become colder please remember to check your little ones, (and big ones), to make sure they are heading out of the house with warmer clothes and coats. All students go outside for recess each day so this will be important. Have a wonderful first week of October and we hope to see you at Fall Festival!
In Partnership,
Kristin Reilly/Principal
