Looking Ahead

Countdown to Summer: 25 Days!

We've had wonderful few weeks learning about oviparous animals and the life cycles of animals. Our class experimented with building bird nests and went on an egg hunt. We've looked at eggs, tadpoles, and received our caterpillars today! We can't wait to watch the go through metamorphosis. We celebrated Earth Day today by building out of recyclable materials. Our groups came up with a hamster home, a loud speaker, a band set complete with guitar & drums, a car, and an ax. We loved getting to see them use their creativity!

Please read the "Things to Know" section for important information about what is happening in our classroom!

Things to Know

It's almost time for our field trip (yay!). Reminder notes are headed home in your child's backpack this afternoon. Please pay special attention to what lunch choice you selected for your child. We are looking forward to a great day!

Kindergarten Registration

Do you have siblings, neighbors, or friends who will have a Kindergartner at Kedron next year? Please spread the word that registration is going on now! Kedron will be hosting our Kindergarten Kinship to take place on Thursday, April 27th. This is a great, informational meeting for the parents and also a fun time for students to visit a classroom. Let families know they can call the office to register! (Thank you to all of you who have already shared!)

The Great Book Exchange

The Media Center is hosting a "Great Book Exchange". Information has been sent home via Infinite Campus. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Scholastic Book Order

The Scholastic Book order will be due next Friday. This is a wonderful time to stock up on some reading material for first grade. Thanks for your support!

Bubble Day

Bubble Day will be May 16th from 9 am to 12 pm. Thank you SO much to all the helpers for have signed up to bring something or help us out that day. The sign up is below if you need to remember what you are bringing or if you still need to sign up for something. (We still need parent volunteers, so if you can come, let us know!)

On Bubble Day, make sure your child is protected from the sun. Please put sunscreen on them at home. Bring hats and sunglasses if needed (though your child will be responsible for keeping up with them). Your child also needs a towel to sit on and a change of clothes (just in case!). Please label everything! If you have a class shirt, please wear it. If not, our class color is kelly green, so any green shirt will work. Thank you!
