Job Description:
An anesthesiologist is a medical doctor who cares for a patient before, during and immediately after a surgery or medical procedure by giving appropriate anesthesia and monitoring the patient for reactions/complications.
Main Responsibility:
The patient's life is in your hands. Less anesthesia means they won't fall asleep, and too much anesthesia can have fatal consequences.
Other important responsibilities:
Type of Anesthesia
You need to know which type of anesthesia to give to the patient.
Amount of Anesthesia
You also need to know how much Anesthesia to give to the patient.
Reactions or Complications
You need to monitor the patient for Reactions/Complications. If they have any then you need to take action immediately to ensure that the patient will be OK.
