This challenge started on Monday May 4th and ends on September 4th. Please be sure to sign onto the Scholastic Summer Reading Program. The site works best when you use Google Chrome.
Please have your child start to log the minutes they read each week on the Scholastic website -http://www.scholastic.com/ups/campaigns/src-2015 Please see the attached flyers for more information. If you have any questions please email Richmondsummerreading@gmail.com
Sunscreen
Please remember to apply sunscreen daily before your child comes to school.
For Field Day: Please have the children wear hats and APPLY sunscreen in the morning before the bus ride to school.
Provide labeled sunscreen for your child’s use ONLY due to possible allergic reactions.
A note giving permission to have the sunscreen reapplied should be provided.
We will have a general time frame to reapply the sunscreen at 11AM and 1 PM.
Thank you for your help.

Spotlight on Learning: Summer Game Night
Challenge yourselves as a family to dedicate one night a week to family game night. The following link contains the directions for some math fluency games for the whole family to enjoy. Mrs. Reis' favorite game is "Salute!" This 3 player game is a lot of fun. Enjoy! http://seps.mgd-colo.peak.org/Math%20Page/Math%20Night%20PDFs/Simple%20games%20to%20play%20at%20home.pdf
Box Tops
Hello All,
Our last Box Tops winning class is (drum roll please......) Mr. Caplette's 4th graders! They collected over 1300 box tops and this is their second win of the year! Great Job!
I would like to thank you all for your help clipping and counting this year. It's an easy way to earn our school some extra money and it would not have been possible without all of your help. Please consider volunteering for your child's class next year and get your friends and neighbors to keep saving box tops over the summer. Every one counts!!!
Thanks again and have a safe and happy summer!
Sincerely,
Keri Edmunds
Field Day BBQ
Dear Richmond Elementary School Parents/Guardians,
To coincide with our Field Day this year Aramark will be cooking a barbeque for lunch.
The meal choices that day will be hamburger, cheeseburger or hot dog. Also on the menu will be corn on the cob and fresh watermelon.
In addition, they will offer a sunny butter & jelly sandwich or the daily salad for those who do not want the grill options.
The Field Day is scheduled for Thursday, June 18th, with a rain date of Friday, June 19th.
Sincerely,
Sharon Martin
