Name and Location

Its commonly known name is the White-tailed Deer, but its scientific name is Odocoileus Virginiaus. The White-tailed Deer is commonly found throughout North Carolina but is unevenly distributed with more dense populations in the Coastal plains and Piedmont with lesser in the Mountains.

Why is it in danger of extinction?


It is endanger because it was hunted extensively for its fur or hide and its meat. Without thought of conservation or management of them.

What is being done to protect it?

The polices being put in place to protect White-tailed deer are places where your not allowed to hunt and this place if for the White-tailed deer.
