Weekly Update 9/23/22
PRM Clubs and Activities
Please note that clubs and activities run at different times during the year. Meeting information and dates are included in the weekly announcements that are included in the newsletter, posted on the website, and announced in school each morning.
Back to School Night
On that evening, all parents are asked to report to their child's period 1 class at 6:30 (for 6th graders, who have a different period 1 class depending on the day, parents should report to the A day class). Each parent will receive a copy of their child's full schedule in that class.
Parents will follow their child's schedule throughout the evening according to this schedule:
Period 1: 6:30-6:40
Period 2: 6:43-6:50
Period 3: 6:53-7:00
Period 4: 7:03-7:10
Period 5: 7:30-7:20
Period 6: 7:23-7:30
Period 7: 7:33-7:40
Period 8: 7:43-7:50
Period 9: 7:53-8:00
Please also note the following information about our Back to School Night:
If the PRM lot is full, additional parking is available at Kiel or in the lot behind Kinnelon High School.
When you arrive, please report to your child’s Period 1, Day A class. You will receive your child’s schedule there, and will follow that throughout the evening (please scroll down to see the specific times for each class period). If you arrive after the homeroom period, your child’s schedule will be in the main office. Please note, if your child is enrolled in speech with Mrs. Gitkin, she will be available from 6:00-6:30 in her office in the media center. If your child is enrolled in Geometry at KHS 1st period, you can pick up her/his schedule in the PRM Library/Media Center.
Your child’s schedule includes a period entitled “Math/ILA Split.” This is because our master schedule is based on forty-minute periods, but our math and language arts courses are sixty minutes each. Please note that you will be visiting your child’s math and language arts courses only in the periods designated for math and ILA, and not in the “Math/ILA Split” period (e.g. if your child has math during period 3, the split period during period 4, and language arts during period 5, you will visit the math teacher during period 3 only and the language arts teacher during period 5 only).
We look forward to seeing you on September 29th!
Pillars of Character
This week, we honored our first student as a Pillar of Character. We read the following message in our morning announcement:
The 8th grade team would like to nominate Kal M. for the pillar of "Caring". Kal has gone out of his way to help his fellow classmates. The thoughtfulness he has shown is very much noticed and appreciated. Congratulations, Kal!
