Week 2 Prayer
God Of Truth
God of Truth you gave your church a new light in the life and preaching of our Father Dominic. Give us the help we need to support our preaching by holy and simple lives. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.
… St Dominic, Pray for Us …
From The Assistant Principal
Dear Parents,
Yesterday, Mr Versteegen and I had the privilege of attending the Leaders’ Forum with over four hundred delegates from school leaders across the Primary and High School sectors as well as CEWA personnel. Main priorities for the day were looking at the CEWA strategic directions for 2019-2021, Transforming Lives policy and the Vision for Learning document. We look forward to unpacking these documents with our staff, students and the wider community in time and more importantly relating these documents to our own school context.
Our Chinese Immersion Students have arrived and are here for two weeks. We very much welcome these students and their families and look forward to an exchange of ideas, culture and sport whilst they are here. We have already heard that a couple of students were very pleased with receiving homework on the first day! We have Maria (Yr 2), Chow and Nicky (Yr 3), Bob and Baron (Yr 4), Louis and Michelle (Yr 5), Yu and Sky (Yr 6). We also welcome Marcelin and Asha Bardet (Yr 1) who are visiting our school for three weeks from Dubai.
A big thank you to Lauren Knight who has created a new fairy garden outside the Early Years Learning Centre for this term. Also, to Mr Versteegen, Sam Cheesman, Marcia Pekin and Nino Marchese who have refurbished the uniform shop over the weekend to make better use of that space.
Also, thank you to Renae Lavell (Kindy) for taking over from Jo Tang as our new P&F treasurer. We welcome Renae to this role.
Next week, our Year 3 and Year 5 students will complete the Bishops’ Religious Literacy Assessment and on Friday 8th August, we invite you to our whole school Mass, starting at 9am, for St Dominic’s Day. For St Dominic’s Day, children are asked to bring a gold coin donation to support our charities Lifelink and Wheelchair for Kids and it is also a ‘free dress’ day. Coming home next week will be an order form for a hot dog and drink for lunch on the Friday.
Have a wonderful week ahead!
Kind regards,
Natalie Sims
Assistant Principal

Holy Spirit Business Directory - Get your business listed for FREE!
Our community is an integral part of Holy Spirit and to show our support we are offering past & present parents the opportunity to publicise their business or place of employment in the Holy Spirit Business Directory in the hope that our school families may choose to support other school families when doing business.
There is no charge to list your business on the directory, but you must be a current parent, guardian or have had a student graduate from Year 6 in the last 5 years.
Perhaps you run a hairdressing salon, an IT consultancy or a physiotherapy service? Or maybe you work at a company that wishes to promote its services to our community?
Whatever it is, please take the time to get involved!
