#Learning Camp

Tuesday, Sep. 30th, 4:30-7:30pm

400 S Walnut St

Webster, TX

We are extremely excited about the fall edition of #LearningCamp. This new approach to professional learning has been designed in a mini-conference structure to meet the diverse needs of new teachers, experienced teachers, instructional coaches, aspiring leaders, assistant principals, principals, and district-level leaders.

There are four #LearningCamps scheduled for this school year—September 30, 2014, November 3, 2014, February 17, 2015, and April 14, 2015. The first mini-conference is designed to meet beginning of the year needs. Future #LearningCamps will expand on these topics as well as offer new topics based on interests.

Participants may attend one or more sessions based on personal schedules, needs, and interests. See attached September 30th #LearningCamp agenda and encourage your teachers, coaches, and leaders to sign up today.

Who's Who at Ross Elementary!

Each week, we will feature Ross Staff Members! Get your bios ready!

Read below to find out more about Mrs. Magdos, Ms. Segraves and Mrs. Quasny.

Brandy Magdos, Ross Elementary's Advanced Learning Specialist

Brandy Magdos is married to her husband, John and has 2 children, Matthew and Sabrina. She loves spending time with her family, scrap booking and reading in her spare time. She might also have a slight addiction to Candy Crush! Although her husband would argue that she is addicted to Christmas decorating- or any holiday for that matter. She puts up over 30 Christmas trees every year and only 6 or so are under 6 feet tall, each with it's very own theme. She also goes all out for Halloween- she blames that one on the fact that her son was born on Halloween so they must decorate for that! She also loves to wear hats. Her holiday ones are especially fun!

Brandy is a Clear Creek Kid- She attended Greene Elem. K-6, Webster Int. 7-8, and Creek 9-12. She did her student teaching at Ferguson Elem. and began teaching 1st grade there after she graduated. She has also taught 5th grade math and science. This will be her 17th year in Clear Creek ISD. She loves teaching science and incorporating technology in anyway that she can. She was one of three finalists for the Technology Teacher of the Year for the State of Texas. She has successfully acquired over $33,000 in grant money from the Clear Creek Education Foundation! We are so happy to have Mrs. Magdos at Ross!

Andrea Segraves, Ross Principal

Andrea Segraves started her education journey in Galveston, Texas. She moved to the island just weeks before starting her first year of teaching from Broken Arrow. OK. Galveston is where she fell in love with "Big Rodney", and decided to stay in Texas a little longer. That was 13 years ago. :) She taught third grade for three years in Galveston, fourth grade literacy for two years at McWhirter Elementary and fifth grade for 1 year in Birdville ISD near Ft. Worth. She was the assistant principal at McWhirter Elementary for three years before be named principal at Ross Elementary. This is her fourth year and Ross Elementary and she LOVES being a ROADRUNNER!! She has one little boy, "Little Rodney," who is a first grader at Ross. They love spending the weekends together grilling out when the weather is nice, watching football and hanging out with friends. They have a dog, a cat, a fish, three turtles and bunch of tadpoles.
