RHYTHM & MOVES STARTS ON TUESDAY
R&M was able to find a replacement teacher for us. Adam Muhtaseb will be here on Tuesday and Friday. Ann Tafolla, R&M director, will also be on-site to get the program going. If you can't remember your Rhythm & Moves time, please check the Master Schedule.
MUSIC BEGINS ON THIS WEEK
The Chris Reed & Friends music program begins this week. Mr. Kevin will be the teacher at Alta Vista. He stopped by for a quick visit on Friday and is excited to begin working with students on Tuesday. Classes will be held in the cafeteria. If you're unsure of your time, please check the Master Schedule.
LIBRARY OPENS ON MONDAY
After a lot of dusty and dirty work, Lisa is ready to welcome classes into the Library on Monday. Your library visit times can be found on the (yes, you guessed it) Master Schedule.
Coach Justin will begin directly supervising games at lunch next week. On Monday/Wednesday/Friday, he will be with third-fifth grade. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, he will be on the primary side of campus. Each Monday, we'll remind students during the morning announcements and let them know what games will be available.
UNION BELL
In total USD teachers have completed more than 2,100 activities in Union BELL since last year. L&I added 85 new activities last week that address all sorts of new topics from EduProtocols to blogging to NGSS. Be sure to check it out!
WHERE'S MARY FRAN?
Lietz's STEAM ToSA is out until mid-October, so Mary Fran and the other ToSAs will be pitching in to keep their program going. Mary Fran will be at Lietz on Wednesday mornings through October 17th. Even though Mary Fran won't be there, the MakerSpace will still be available on Wednesdays.
GLOBAL READ ALOUD
The Global Read Aloud books have been ordered. A few are currently out-of-stock, but we will let you know as soon as the books begin arriving.
Mary Fran extended third graders understanding of clouds with close observation of shapes and colors.
Michelle using Owl Moon to teach students about using an author's voice in their own writing.
Nikki used Strawbees and Playdough2Plato to help her grasshoppers create 3D shapes.
