Congratulations to East Jordan High School's Student of the Month, Guy Chamberlain!
Guy is a friendly, helpful, polite student, who comes to class every day with a smile on his face and a positive attitude! He plays the trumpet in the EJHS Band and is a member of the EJHS Varsity Cross Country team. Guy’s band teacher, Mrs. Tippett commented, “He is a talented musician and boasts the highest range in the trumpet section.” Mrs. Kerr, Guy’s cross country coach, added, “Guy's work ethic reflects across the team; his perseverance, dedication to the sport of cross country, and his positive outlook encourages all that have the opportunity to work alongside him. These qualities will follow him through his life and further enable him to expand as the leader that we all know he is.” Guy is the son of Josh and Maegan Chamberlain.
Congratulations to East Jordan Middle School's Student of the Month, Trace Wynkoop!
Trace is a hard worker with a great attitude! He asks questions and follows directions. Trace encourages his peers to do their best as well. Mrs. Bergquist commented, “Trace is a perfect choice for Student of the Month! He enters class with a positive attitude, is organized, and is very conscientious. I have enjoyed getting to know Trace and see that he cares about his academics and adds value to our first hour English class. Congratulations and keep up the excellent work!” Trace is the son of Dawn and Scott Haley and Leif Wynkoop.

EJMHS Attendance Policy
The attendance policy for EJMHS has changed a bit from last year. Once a student is more than 10 minutes late for their class they are considered absent. Regardless of the type of absence, students are allowed 9 absences in any given class prior to them possibly losing credit in that class. At the 10th absence mark, students will need to complete make-up sessions for every absence thereafter and earn a passing grade (D-) on their final exam in order to gain their credit back. If a student has medically-related extenuating circumstances they may ask for an appeal of their excessive absences. Students will not be penalized for class field trips, sporting events, guidance counselor appointments, class meetings or other school functions.
To report a student's absence, please call the attendance line, which is available 24/7, at 231-536-2274.

EJPS Athletics Department
The GoFan digital ticketing app will once again be used to purchase your tickets into athletic events. You can go to GoFan and search East Jordan for the link to purchase your tickets. Most area schools will be using some form of digital ticketing for their admission into contests. If you are unable to find the event listed on GoFan contact the athletic office for information as to what source a school may be using for their digital tickets.
For those that would prefer to watch the contest from the comfort of their home you can subscribe to the NFHS broadcast system. For a small monthly or yearly subscription fee you can watch any or all of our home contests that are held at the stadium and the middle/high gym. Can't watch them when they're live? You can pull the contest when it's convenient for you and watch it then! Visit www.NFHSnetwork.com -- search for East Jordan and subscribe and follow us!
