We are proud to be able to give 15% of that back to our community through Sycamore Bridges. Check out to learn more about this awesome charitable organization that seeks to create a “Gateway for Kindness”.

We do have a few more t-shirts to order (earned if $100 or pledges raised), please let us know if your student has NOT yet received their T-shirt or if you have not been contacted via e-mail regarding sizing. We will be placing a new order within the next week or so.

If your student has earned Carnival Tickets, please note that Carnival ticket vouchers are NOT required for redemption of tickets. We are keeping a list of students who earned this prize and will send specific instructions closer to the carnival event date.

BLINK CINCINNATI , one of largest light, art and projection mapping events in the country, is next weekend, October 10 - 13! The Sycamore Art department has been collaborating with the Science department to create illuminated costumes from recycled water bottles. The teachers put together a proposal and received a monetary grant from Artworks and secured a spot in the parade on Thursday, October 10th.

Greene art teachers, Ms.Combs and Mrs. Herron, worked with their advanced students to make accessories for the costumes and the teachers are walking with the HS in the parade. The parade will be Thursday starting at 7:00 pm along Vine Street down to Freedom Way.

Ms. Combs and Mrs. Herron have also been teaching their classes about this event and how the integration of technology with art has provided the platform for this amazing weekend. The event is free, and open nightly from 7:00 - 11:00 pm.

Lost and Found

Do any of these items look familiar? Please have your child check the lost and found (next to the cafeteria) for missing belongings. Any items not claimed by the end of the quarter (Friday, October 11) will be donated. Thank you!

#speakupAVES Mental Health Awareness Month

September launched our #speakupAVES campaign. Our commitment to supporting student, staff, and community mental health is strong. Our Sycamore High School students will honor their commitment to start the conversation and break down the stigma surrounding mental health on Saturday, October 5. Their team participation in the 1N5 Warrior Run as team SycamoresAVES has raised over $1000 to support mental health education in Sycamore Schools. There is still time to show your support by joining our team by registering HERE, or to sponsor the team HERE. As we said, our conversation is just getting started. We encourage you to follow us on twitter @speakupAVES to remain connected to our initiatives, activities, and information about mental health in our community.

The commitment to mental health and wellness is a national topic of conversation. Our city is engaged in that conversation and is bringing an event designed to support mental health and wellness to Cincinnati. On October 11-13 Kroger will sponsor the Wellness Your Way festival at the Duke Energy Center. For more information about this event, designed to kick-start your journey to a healthy lifestyle, click HERE.
