Monday, May 2nd - Hijabi For a Day Challenge
- Time: 11 am to 5 pm
- Location: The Plaza
We invite anyone interested in learning about the hijab to come to our booth, check out our information pamphlets & engage with our representatives about any misconceptions or questions you may have about the hijab. Also, folks may try on & experience wearing the headscarf. Snacks are provided as well as a photo booth to take photos!
Tuesday, May 3rd - Dine-n-Dialogue: Hijabi for a Day
- Time: 11 am to 12:30 pm
- Location: IDEA Project (UW1-161)
What is the Hijab? Come join us at IDEA Project where we will be answering common questions about the hijab, debunking misconceptions and clarifying stereotypes behind the veil. We also open this space for folks to talk about their experiences wearing the headscarf. All are welcomed! Halal food will be provided!
Wednesday, May 4th - Talk Show
- Time: 3 pm to 4 pm
- Location: Husky Hall UWAVE Studio
Come in or listen in to this upcoming SJO-hosted Third Wave radio show, where we will be discussing topics in relation to misconceptions against Muslims and non-Muslims who are stereotyped and face oppression. Topics such as Islamophobia and how to combat these issues through education will also be touched on. If you are interested in speaking at the talk show, email Naima at naim4ife@uw.edu by Monday April 2nd!
Thursday, May 5th - "Islam vs. The Media" featuring C.A.I.R Representatives
- Time: 6 pm to 8 pm
- Location: ARC 2nd Floor
Come hear from Washington's Council on American Islamic Relations where representatives will open a conversation on the issues of Islamophobia and how media plays a role in creating this image. All are welcomed!!!
Friday, May 6th - Jummah Prayer with MSA
- Time: 3 pm to 5 pm (Prayer at 3:30)
- Location: CC3- 103
Muslim Student Association invites you to for Jummah prayer on campus where we will be having a Kutbah (speech) and prayer afterwards.
