From Mr. Backmeyer's Desk - REMIND...GET CONNECTED
First, we DO NOT have school next week! While we will miss you, we hope that you enjoy time with family and friends!
We continue to strive to better communicate with our parents and community! We have a Twitter page - https://twitter.com/SouthsideElem. We have added a Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/SouthsideElem/
Some of our teachers use Remind and I think it would be a great added piece to communicate with our staff, parents, and community about safety and emergency information, events, etc. What is it and how do you join...please read below.
From www.remind.com - Over 35% of k–12 teachers in the US, and 1.5 million teachers globally, use Remind to connect instantly with students and parents. Over time, we've also seen countless administrators benefit from Remind for school-wide communication. Principals everywhere are forgetting their complex phone trees and are using Remind as a simple way to keep their colleagues in the loop and build community at their schools.
Remind is safe, simple and free PERSONAL PHONE NUMBERS ARE NOT SHARED Remind messages are not sent from personal cell phone numbers. Students and parents who sign up to receive messages from their teachers will never gain access to a teacher’s personal cell phone number, nor will the teacher have access to a student or parent’s cell phone number. Remind does not rent or sell any user data, ever. Remind is also COPPA compliant, and uses standard encryption methods, such as SSL, to protect user information. We take student data privacy seriously, and work hand-in-hand with our community to keep Remind safe and secure. Chromebook Damages $$
Please take a few minutes to reinforce the importance of taking care of their devices. Being a technology-based school, it is difficult for students to operate without their chromebook and the repair costs can add up for parents.
The process:
1.Teachers turn in damaged chromebook with report of what happened to our building technologist.
2. In-House repair determines the extent of damage and creates a statement of repair charges.
3. Repair charges are mailed home.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Mustang Basketball Schedule
Attention all EBL players and coaches: The EBL is excited to announce that all EBL players and coaches will be allowed free admittance to all home high school basketball games this year, except the IHSAA tournament games.(Girls & Boys) The EBL has provided rosters to both high schools and they will have these rosters at the ticket booth. Give them your name and school and they will check you off the list. A huge THANKS to both high schools for making this happen!
