CARLSON COURIER
Home of the Champions
Hello Champions,
Happiest of Mother's Day to all of our Carlson mothers! I hope you are celebrated for all that you do and how much you mean to your families and ours. I always loved the saying, "a mother understands what a child does not say." I've come to realize the depth of this and its increasingly profound truth at each stage of life. So again, many thanks and enjoy your special day.
We had so much to celebrate last week and it began with the heart and soul of our campus, our teachers. A huge thank you to all of you that sent in cards, flowers, gifts, and gift cards for our teachers. They were extremely happy and grateful for your support; definitely well deserved after such a challenging and stressful year. And we couldn't have done it without our amazing PTO. Thank you to Mrs. Palichuk and her team for planning, organizing, ordering, picking up, setting up, decorating and cleaning up for us all week. And when I say team its just a few, of course you guessed it, moms. Thank you Mrs. Macias, Wesselman, and Coracides for all your help making this such a memorable and special week honoring our teachers. And to Rita's Burritos and Floridino's for partnering with us to help make this happen as well. All in all it was a great week.
Other events last week included 4th graders getting a special performance by our band and orchestra classes to showcase these to fine art options for them next year. Also, any current 5th graders are also eligible to join next year as well. On Friday, we celebrated one of our own, Ms. Mauer as she finished her student teaching and graduated from NAU with her teaching degree.
Coming up this week (can you believe there are only 13.5 more school days). On Wednesday, students that were selected to perform in the talent show will be filming there acts on campus in the music room throughout the day. The final version will be sent out on May 20th (its virtual so a link to a video will be provided). Also, on Wednesday is our final PTO meeting of the year. Elections will be held in the media center after school at 3:15pm. All are welcome to join us and be a part of this process. On Friday we will celebrate our final Champions Recognition for Citizenship, 5th grade will be showcasing their state reports, and its the last day for AR testing this year.
Thank you and have a wonderful week everyone!
Sincerely,
Mr. Morgan
