November 2014
November Notes
November was short but busy. We started the month off with the annual Field of Readers. We played games on the field, read books on the field, made book marks, participated in a book walk and had our pictures made with our favorite books in the Photo Booths. It was such a delight to see families enjoying time well spent together reading! Fifth Grade rotated through the Library. We played Kahoot.it as we learned about figurative language. We finished up by learning to code on the computer by using Lightbot App on the Ipad. The Library hosted a week long Book Fair where lots of books were purchased for our reading pleasure. I think Santa even got a little help getting books for Christmas!
The Library hosted Cathy Whiteman for our Jingle Bash family event. She told some great stories and kept us totally engaged. First Grade students read Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving by Dav Pilkey. After we read the book, we had fun with a makerspace activity. Students chose ink colors to create their very own Thumbprint Turkey.
