April 19, 1775

The Battle Begins

On April 19, 1775 the tensions have been growing for many years between the people in the 13 colonies and the British army, especially in Massachusetts. The night of April 18, 1775 hundreds of British soldiers marched to Concord searching for weapons to take for the British army. The British where not careful. Paul Revere and other riders went of and warned the colonists, "The British are coming!"

The End battle

The British realized that they would lose so they retreated. On their way back to Boston the Colonists (Otherwise known at Militias) attacked the British retreating. In the end the Militias won the battles of Lexington and Concord. They proved that they could defeat one of the strongest armies.
