Looking Ahead To Term #2... Fresh Start... New Opportunity...
Today is World Kindness Day...

From the Principal's Desk...
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Term #1 officially ended today. Our initial journey back to school definitely hasn't been easy, but I do feel as though we have made some positive strides, especially as we look back exactly 6 months ago to March 13, 2020. We all know that shifting a complete mindset is very difficult and takes time to evolve. There is no doubt that we miss our students very much and would like nothing more than to be back to normal. However, until we can reach that point, we still need to do take baby steps each day to become better at what we do and refine and adjust practices to help all students connect to content at their entry points. This is definitely a process and can't happen overnight. We will look back on Term #1 and reflect upon all aspects of connecting with students and families. To assist us in this process, I will be including a Parent Feedback Survey below. I will use your feedback to drive our Leadership Team discussions as we move into Term #2. As always, I want to thank you for your continued partnership and trust as we move this learning journey forward. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.

CMS' Annual Drive to Support CHIP-In (Local Food Pantry)
It is that time of year at CMS where we look to reach out to help our neighbors by donating non-perishable food items to CHIP-IN. Now, more than ever, CHIP-IN needs donations. We invite you please donate any non-perishable food items; or if you prefer, a monetary donation. If you choose to write a check, we ask that you please make it out to CHIP-IN, and put it to Mr. Packard’s attention.
CHIP-IN is looking for all kinds of juices, baked beans, snacks, coffee, tea, hot chocolate etc. Things that are not needed: Peanut butter, cereal and Ramen noodles; these items are provided to CHIP-IN through the Worcester County Bank. Don’t forget to check those expiration dates. Our collection boxes will be outside the front doors, as students enter the building. Boxes will remain outside all day, if anyone would like to drop anything off. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Kasierski at pkasierski@dcrsd.org

- Independent Remote Learning: Students access Google Classrooms for asynchronous learning opportunities. It’s important to note that as we continue to work out the norms of our remote learning model – our students will be strongly encouraged to develop the needed skills in Digital Literacy as well as Digital Citizenship. This will be very important as we move through the coming weeks. During the Remote Learning platform, all school expectations apply with respect to behavior, etc. What is acceptable in school is our benchmark for communications and interactions within the remote learning environment. Please remind your children of this – Thank You.
