A Message from the Principal
Dear Holy Family Catholic School Community,
Happy All Souls Day to you and your families; I hope that you had a safe Halloween this past weekend.
HFCS has enjoyed seeing so many of our students dressed as saints at Mass last Thursday, and today in school. Today during Monday Morning Prayer we learned seven reasons why the saints are important:
- The saints are real.
- The saints struggled with the very problems we do – and much worse.
- The saints are our heavenly helpers.
- The message of the saints’ lives and teachings are timeless and timely.
- The words and actions of the saints are a sure guide and authority on how we should live.
- The saints are the best role models for sanctity.
- Make friends with the saints, and they will be with us and helps us. monasteryicons.com
My hope is that our students will retain the happy saint experiences that they have experienced here at HFCS, and that lives of the saints will continue to inform their spiritual growth and development.
Our November Saint of the Month is Blessed Miguel Pro, and our Virtue of the Month is Fortitude.
I am so proud of our students and how they partnered with the parish in a letter writing service projects to help uplift the hearts and minds of our elderly who often live in isolation. Thanks go to Meg Ruhter for organizing this project!
We are gearing up for our Livestream Pot O’ Gold Auction and can’t wait to reveal the theme on November 16th! Thank you to Lisa Griffith for being our POG Chair this year, and also to Brenda Conway and Sophie Kriss for leading the charge in obtaining our live and silent auction items this year. Go Hornets!
I am looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday evening at 6:00 for our monthly Home and School Associated meeting. Don’t forget to send your child to school wearing silly socks this Wednesday!
We will be celebrating Veterans Day outside next Wednesday, November 11, weather permitting; it will be livestreamed so you can participate from home.
God bless you and keep you safe as we continue to work through the challenges that COVID brings us,
Mrs. Ann Walters, MPS
Principal
