The HRS Leader
Region 9 High Reliability Schools-Jan/Feb 2020
Certification for Fall 2020
Based on the certification applications submitted at this point, certification spots are full for this school year. If you are interested in certifying in any HRS level during the fall of 2020, it is important to let one of us know. The best way to inform us about your interest is to complete and submit the certification application by May 1, 2020. The application for certification can be found here but also on our website at bit.ly/R9HRS.
As you considering the possibility to pursue certification, please keep the following critical commitments in mind:
Level 1 - Safety procedures, protocols, and PLCs are alive and well (while the work of PLCs is never complete, PLCs should be organized and meeting regularly about those PLC topics before pursuing certification in this level).
Level 2- There is a school-wide model of instruction, teachers are setting goals and participating in instructional rounds.
Level 3- Your campus practices include a curriculum based and data-driven instruction, a vocabulary framework, and work on proficiency scales/TEKS breakdowns.
Opportunity for Teachers
Big News!!! One teacher who participates in one of these digital hangouts will win a trip the Marzano High Reliability Schools Summit in Austin July 7-9. The more times they join us, the more they are entered!
Summer Professional Development
HRS Mini Summit, June 11
Dr. Phil Warrick of Marzano Resources will present the keynote address for our one-day mini summit.
HRS for New Leaders, July 20-21
This session is perfect for administrators taking over a campus already in the process of High Reliability Schools.
Another important one to note is the ASOT Summer Academy. This is a great way to have teachers trained in The Art and Science of Teaching without missing as many days of instruction during the school year. Only two of the six required days will take place during the school year.
