Important Update from Dr. Cain
May 29, 2020 ~ To all Administrators
Good Afternoon,
As you may know, Governor Parson has extended Phase I of the Missouri Recovery Plan with social distancing guidelines in place through Monday, June 15. With everyone’s cooperation, and with 9- and 10-month employees gone for the summer, we are confident that we can move forward with all 12-month employees returning to regular hours starting on Monday, June 1.
Adjustments in some departments may need to be made to ensure that employees can physically be present at work while maintaining six feet of distance. We are asking that you assess your buildings and departments and work toward solutions that allow on-site work to take place. Please remove items in waiting areas such as magazines and toys and consider closing common areas during this time (i.e., faculty lounges). It is important that we make our work areas as safe as possible, and we encourage your innovation and care as we move forward toward the summer work schedule. We are especially cognizant of those on our teams who regularly interact with the public, so please make sure that appropriate signage and social distancing measures are in place for our clerks, secretaries, and receptionists.
As a reminder, the 10-hour, four-day summer schedule begins on Monday, and don’t hesitate to reach out if we can support you and your staff. Thank you!
Here is the message that will go to all employees and families shortly:
WSD Employees,
Governor Parson has extended Phase I of the Missouri Recovery Plan with social distancing guidelines through Monday, June 15. As we return to regular work hours on Monday, we will be assessing each workstation to ensure that we can maintain social distancing, protecting our staff and our visitors. We do ask that if you are hourly, you resume using the time clock on Monday. There will be wipes to use before and after each use.
It is imperative that we all continue to practice and model social distancing, good hygiene, and respect for each other throughout this process. While at your workstation, you do not need to wear a face covering, but we will ask that if you will be within 6 ft. of another employee or visiting a frequent use area like restrooms or copiers that you use a face covering and ensure that you wash your hands both before and after using items with common touches (i.e. time clock, copy machine, elevator). Please remember that each individual has his or her own level of comfort and health considerations during this time, but by working together and being considerate, we can attempt to make the work environment comfortable and safe for everyone.
Thank you for your continued flexibility during this unprecedented time. We are looking forward to closing out the current school and fiscal year and working as a team to ensure the new school year is our very best year yet.
WSD Families,
Governor Parson has extended Phase I of the Missouri Recovery Plan with social distancing guidelines through Monday, June 15. Our buildings will begin to reopen next week by appointment only. If you are registering a student, please contact the appropriate school office to make an appointment to do so. We will have safeguards in place in our buildings in order to maintain social distancing and protect any visitors and staff members. We do request that if you have an appointment you wear a face covering when entering the building. We recognize that each individual has their own level of comfort and health considerations and it is our goal to work together and be considerate of that as we conduct essential school business during this challenging time.
Thank you for your continued flexibility and cooperation during this unprecedented time. We are looking forward to closing out the current school year and working together as a community to ensure the new school year is our very best year yet.
