Learning Through Cause and Effect
- Cause and effect is a relationship between events in which one event causes another
- Ex. Infants learn they can get their needs met by crying
- As children grow, they watch the behavior of important adults in their lives and then imitate those actions
- Adults should model desirable behaviors
- Always give a baby clear messages
- Ex. Smile while expressing love or approval
- Provide consistent responses to a baby's behaviors
