Schedule for Finals
Because our students have asked for more time to prepare for exams and to not have four exams on one day, we have created a new schedule that will be implemented this year. ALL students will finish class on Thursday and Friday at 11am and will be dismissed from BHS at this time. Students driving, walking, or riding with a peer/guardian can leave directly at the 11am dismissal, and students riding a bus home will head to their bus at dismissal. Students will have the option of grabbing lunch in the main building cafe prior to leaving. The week of finals will have teacher "Office Hours" available for student support, so please reach out to a specific teacher if your student would to schedule a time.
Please remember that we do not offer early final exams, and attendance on these days is critical as final exams are worth 20% of your students' semester grades.
Reminder:
In order to maintain the integrity of the testing environment, we will not be able to call into/or interrupt a classroom to get a student. Please do not schedule appointments for your student on December 18-21. Students are expected to remain in their classrooms for the duration of each period.
Second Semester Schedules
At this time, course changes can NOT be made for second semester unless students want to either drop a course for a study hall or find a course in place of a study hall. Our master schedule is not designed to handle a lot of changes this time of year.
Online Registration for AP Tests
Taking the Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses. Brownsburg High School desires that all students take AP exams for the AP classes that they have taken. Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credit for their high school class, saving a significant amount on tuition.
For the 2019 AP exams, students at Brownsburg High School will be registering online. This registration will take a few minutes and can be completed from any computer with internet access. This year each AP exam costs $98.00. Brownsburg High School desires that every student be able to take their AP exams. Students who are receiving free or reduced lunch will receive exam waivers for their AP exams.
All students who are taking exams in Math, Science, and/or English will receive exam waivers from the Indiana Department of Education. The IDOE has committed to covering the costs of these exams for all students grades 9 – 12.
Online Exam registration will begin on Wednesday, Jan 9, 2019 at 6:00 AM and end on Thursday, Feb 21, 2019 at 11:00 PM. In order to register, students should visit www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/150335 to register. To complete registration, students must answer all of the required questions. Registration is not complete until students have printed the pdf of the confirmation page that is provided at the end of registration. We know that parents may desire to register their students for exams. We strongly recommend that parents and students are both present while registering to ensure that the correct exams are ordered.
Brownsburg High School is excited to offer families the convenience of paying exam fees online at the time of registration. Please be sure to have a credit card or debit card available before beginning registration. Paying online is a great way to make sure that payment has been made while avoiding mailing payment.
Here are the important dates for the registration process:
- Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 6:00 AM - Registration Begins
- Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 11:00 PM - Registrations and payments after this date will incur a $25 late fee per exam.
