This week was another exciting week in The Den!
Last Saturday we hosted our inaugural Culture Night Market in which we celebrated the diversity of our California High School community. Student clubs set up tables to sell foods from their respective cultural groups. We also had some amazing performances from groups like the Taekwon-Do Club, the Black Student Union, and the Indian Student Association. It was a wonderful night!
We conducted an Exceptional Education Committee Coffee on Thursday with our administrative team and our EEC parent representatives. We had great discussion on how we can better support our students with specific supports through improved communication systems.
Thursday Night we also hosted our incoming 9th grade Open House. The event was a huge success with food trucks, multiple performances from jazz band, student dance class, and Color Guard, then the opportunity for students to explore the campus and meet some of our teachers and coaches. A huge shout out goes to Mrs. Keller-Hill who organized an amazing evening. (Please see pictures below).
Speaking of our wonderful counseling department and the transition to next school year, the window is not open for students to enter the Infinite Campus portal to request their classes for the 23/24 school year. The portal will be open until March 10th for online registration!
Have a great weekend.
Respectfully,
Mr. Ball

College Board Accommodations Process Update (New)
The assessment department has streamlined the process to support students with IEP and 504 accommodations with the application process for College Board accommodations support for the AP, PSAT, and SAT exams.
Families first submit this form to our assessment department for support, then create an online College Board account. Lastly, with the help of district staff, the required documentation can be submitted directly to the College Board website for final approval.
We are encouraging all families with an 8th grader, or high school student who also intends to take an SAT, PSAT, or AP Exam over the course of their high school career to begin the process now. Once complete, accommodations will be available for each test families register to take throughout high school.
For questions please contact Kit Bragg (kbragg@srvusd.net) in the SRVUSD assessment department.
