A Note From the Principal

Good Morning River Hawk Families,

I hope this finds all of you safe, warm, and dry!

It's been a busy week at Rio Norte as students head into the last week of the quarter. Students concerned about their grade need to make time this weekend for missing assignments or additional studying and should consider seeing their teacher/s to set up time to meet with them if they need help. Grades close on Friday for Quarter 3 and teachers will have firm deadlines for late work before that date, so they have time to grade it before their own deadline to submit grades.

We had a wonderful visit from the Guide Dogs of America and the SCV Signal came out to cover it and featured our K.L.A.W.S. club in an article. Scroll below to see what happened and find a link for the article.

This Wednesday consider visiting Panera for lunch (if you order on-line, through the app, or use the in-store kiosk) or dinner to support our PTSA restaurant night. Our PTSA does an incredible job supporting our students, teachers, and our school. See the flyer below.

In this issue learn more about:

  • Norte News

Enjoy your weekend!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Bennett

K.L.A.W.S. Club meets Guide Dogs of America

Our Kids Loving Animals Within Shelters (KLAWS) Club had a visit for the Guide Dogs of America earlier this week. Students listened to a brief presentation and then had the opportunity to rotate through stations learning about what services these amazing dogs provide and about how they are trained. The SCV Signal came out and did a great article on the event. READ IT HERE! Thank you to Mrs. Mandel and Mrs. Racina, our club advisors who set up this incredible event! Students had a great, time learned a lot, and gained wonderful perspective about the people and disabilities these dog serve. They also were rewarded with some wonderful cuddle and petting time at the end!
