Get Ready for Arena Scheduling!
Accessed from Skyward’s Student Access, Arena Scheduling allows our students to create their own schedule, similar to systems used in college. Students will know their unofficial schedule by the end of the current school year, and official schedules will be available sometime in August prior to the beginning of school.
The dates for Arena Scheduling are as follows:
Rising Sophomores/Class of 2024: April 13-15
Rising Freshmen/Class of 2025: April 27-29
The Arena Scheduling window opens for each class at 6:00 a.m. on the first day and closes at midnight on the last day. After students log in to their Skyward Student Access, they will click on the Arena Scheduling tab and select the 2021-22 school year. Arena Scheduling only works with the student's Skyward login, not the parent's. Students who do not complete Arena Scheduling during their time window will have a schedule created for them.
For any and all changes needed during Arena Scheduling, students should use the Arena Schedule Change Request Form. The link to the form will be emailed to students and parents. The form should be used if students need to drop or add a course, select more courses to complete the schedule, or report a scheduling conflict with required courses. An email to the student's counselor does not replace the use of the Arena Schedule Change Request Form. The Counseling Office kindly requests your patience during this time and asks that you not send multiple emails or complete more than one form, as this only delays the process and response times. If you request a change, please continue to check Skyward for updates to your schedule. We will not email students when changes are made.

What is Social Awareness?
Social awareness is defined by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) as, “the ability to take the perspective of and empathize with others, including those from various backgrounds. [It is] the ability to understand social and ethical norms for behavior and to recognize family, school, and community resources and supports.”
What Skills are Associated with Social Awareness?
Based on the above definition, there are several skills that are associated with social awareness. In order to demonstrate this aspect of Social Emotional Learning, students need to develop awareness and abilities related to each of the following skills:
- Perspective-taking: Perspective-taking involves the ability to look at and understand a situation or concept from an alternate point of view.
- Empathy: Empathy is defined as the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. A common saying associated with empathy is to “put yourself in his/her shoes.”
- Respect for others: Students are asked to treat each other with kindness.
