Riverview Report
Here's What's Happening at Riverview
A Message from Ms. Poulson
Our theme this year is "Be ReMARKable." We are also excited to re-energize Make Your Mark here at Riverview this year as well. It's been 2 weeks of school, and it feels so great to have all of our students here with us. Last week we were so excited to have our kindergartners join us and this week to have our preschoolers start. Our school is complete and we are all getting in the groove.
I've had the opportunity to meet with all of our students for grade level assemblies. We talked about what it means to be a RAM, our school rules, and some fun things we will be implementing this year. I am so impressed with the students here at Riverview! Everyday I am greeted with happy faces, and it makes my day.
For those who have visited the school recently, you've probably noticed some changes to our front entrance. Our security doors are very close to being 100% complete which is bringing some changes to what visiting the school looks like for parents. These changes will greatly enhance security for our students. More information is included below regarding our security upgrades and new protocols.
For those who are new to our school community, the Riverview Report will be sent out at the beginning of every month. We ask that you read this bulletin thoroughly as it contains all of the upcoming events at Riverview and important information for parents.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe Labor Day weekend. We will see you back on Tuesday the 5th.
If I can help in anyway, please reach out to me.
Thank you,
Ms. Poulson
New Safety Protocols at Riverview Elementary
Our new safety doors are installed. We are thrilled to have enhanced safety protocols at Riverview and want to make you aware of the following:
- All exterior doors around the building will be locked throughout the day except for the front entrance near the flagpole.
- Students and staff have been instructed not to open exterior doors for people who knock wanting to be let in. All visitors should enter through the front office.
- ALL VISITORS MUST check in at the front office before entering the building for any reason.
- Please have your ID Ready. There is Doorbell/Camera at the door in front of Mrs. Sullivan. Please ring the bell and show your ID.
- After checking in and verifying identity, parents can be buzzed in by the school secretaries in order to enter the hallways and classrooms areas.
Thanks for your support as we implement new safety measures at Riverview. I have included some pictures below of our new protocols.
Hallway Security Doors
These doors will remain locked during school hours.
Parent Doorbell and Camera
This is where all visitors will show ID and then be buzzed into the office.
Student Door inside the office to access the school
This is the door students will use to access the school. Secretaries will buzz them through.
Safe Walking Route Update
New Sidewalk Installed
We are very excited that our sidewalk project was approved and installed by our district this summer. Please help us by reminding students to use the sidewalk and to stay out of the parking lot. The expectation is that all students stay on the sidewalk and walk their bikes and scooters until they get off school property. Thank you for your help and support in ensuring student safety.
**Please make sure that you are not parking anywhere in this lot except for designated parking spaces.
School Spirit Wear Updates
We have added some new options for school shirts on our spirit wear website. Follow this link if you would like to order some new spirit wear for this year.
