The Sudie News
February 3 - February 7, 2020
Principal's Prose
Greetings Team,
I hope that you all had a great weekend filled with doing the unique things that make you YOU! For those of us who are huge Dallas Cowboys fans, the big game this Sunday may have generated a ton of regrets in the form of "what ifs" and "maybes", as our team had to watch and wait until next year. Sad happening, indeed! As my team’s performance was simply not enough, I remain optimistic and excited about the actions and outcomes OUR team will produce! Our Sudie TAG Super Bowl awaits this second semester, and our goal must be to do all we can to win!
If you've noticed, since forever, I've frequently referred to our staff as a team. This has not been coincidental, as I believe we are our best when we stand together as one. Regardless of what's in our rear view or what's to come, we stand here now, united with one common mission, and that's to WIN! Though we all play unique roles, each member's assignment is as significant to our victory as the others. Winning is our mission, and winning WILL be our lasting legacy of the 2019--2020 Sudie Williams TAG school year. We've go this!
Lastly team, as our focus continues to center on great instruction, data tracking and progresses monitoring, I challenge us all to look at this practice through a different lens. Think of progress monitoring as the "scoreboard" for the school year. The scoreboard displays the reality of what's happening, and implies the needed urgency required to successfully strategize for victory. The scoreboard keeps us focused and gifts us the facts about how our instructional and cultural measures are working, and what’s not. Though we may be ahead or even behind at this juncture, just remember that it is the FINAL score which determines the winner! Teams play differently when score keeping is a priority, and so should ours!
Looking ahead Lions, just know that our "A" game is only achieved when we perform as the TEAM we are designed can be. Again, we’ve got this as I believe I each and every one of you and your abilities. Make it a great week, and let's win one for our LEGACY as a SUPER school!
Sincerely,
MJ
