Kirk Fenton News

7th June 2019

Dear Parents / Carers,

Welcome back to the final half term of this school year. I can't believe how fast the year is going!

We have made a great start to the half term with two sports teams doing well this week. Thursday saw a team of Tri-golfers from across KS2 take part in a tournament at Kellington School and today we have had a team of cricketers take part in a competition at Thorpe Willoughby. As always our teams have shown great perseverance and respect and we are very proud of them.

You will have received a letter today asking for volunteers for the summer fair on 30th June. This is the biggest fundraising event in the school calendar and this year we are hoping to use the funds raised to purchase new reading books for KS1 and EYFS. If you can volunteer or support this event in any way then please contact Michelle Seaguss or Gemma Nightingale or call into school and we can pass on your details. Thank you.

Summer Smash Cup Cricket

Eight of our Y3/4s took part in the Selby event of this competition at Thorpe Willoughby Cricket Club. We saw some great catches and big hits as well as excellent teamwork with lots of encouragement. Well done to Charlie, George, Ewan, Niamh, Kyran, Lyra, Sam and Annie.

Tri Golf Festival

Well done to the Y3/4s who represented Kirk Fenton in a tri golf festival against other schools in our cluster this week. They all enjoyed the afternoon, tried really hard and finished a fantastic third.
