BIZ ED SUMMIT 2021

A few of our CTE students had the unique opportunity to participate in the Business & Education Summit held at Arizona State University - Polytechnic campus.

The Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce provided the summit and brought together industry professionals, educators, students, and elected officials to create solutions for better workforce readiness.

EAT PANDA EXPRESS = SUPPORT STUDENT COUNCIL

STUCO is sponsoring a fundraiser Wednesday, Sept. 15th. All you have to do to support our student council is go to Panda Express in Queen Creek for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Panda Express is located at 21184 E. Ocotillo Rd in Queen Creek and is open 9:30 AM - 9:30 PM. Just mention Combs High School and a portion of the proceeds for the day will be donated to CHS STUCO.

HOMECOMING PARADE COMMITTEE

The annual Combs High School Homecoming has grown over the years and the community always looks forward to seeing: floats and vehicles featuring local Police & Firefighters, area business owners, student clubs/athletes, the CHS Marching Band, the 2021 Homecoming Court, and much more.

This year’s activities are quickly approaching! The Homecoming Parade is looking for new committee members to help organize and plan for 2021. If you are interested in helping to continue and grow this special event please contact Mr. Laliberte at rlaliberte@jocombs.org

COUNSELORS CORNER

Did you know??? The Coyote Care focus of the month is Accountability. We hope you enjoyed the TED talk from last week as it had some great information. This week's resource is an excellent article about bringing accountability into your home: https://www.empoweringparents.com/article/how-to-create-a-culture-of-accountability-in-your-home/

Did you know??? The SAT and PSAT are fast approaching! Don't forget to pay your fees in the bookstore and bring your receipt to Mrs. McDowell in 538. Also, AP Registration is happening this week and those payments are due by October 15. Students can pay in the bookstore and bring their receipt to Mrs. McDowell in 538.

Did you know??? Major Clarity has a post-secondary exploration section? Here you can look up colleges across the United States. You will have direct access to the college or university websites, the cost of tuition for in-state and out of state, requirements for admittance for ACT and SAT scores, how many students are on campus, and the admission rate. It even goes further to tell you the average starting salary of their students. If you have multiple colleges, trade schools, or universities in mind, you will want to check this section out. You can even narrow your search by career. So many possibilities right at your fingertips!
