Why a Parent Discussion Group?
Parents are a child’s first teacher and they continue to be teachers throughout the child’s life. To be effective teachers, advocates and mentors for their children, parents need sources of information and support. Parents of gifted and talented children will find such resources through guided discussion groups.
Topics include:
*Characteristics, Identification, and Identity Formation
*Communication and Discipline
*Intensities, Perfectionism, and Stress
*Motivation, Depression, and Bullying
*Competition, Rivalry, Friends, and Family
*Values, Traditions, the Media, and Successful Parenting
SENG discussion groups are designed to help parents connect with other parents in a meaningful way. If there are more interested people than space allows, participants will be added to a waitlist for future discussion groups.
